Isn't it just a great name?  Named for some chap called Snorgerup, i think.... :-\

I do hope I never meet a Mr Snogerup, I'll never keep a straight face!

Interesting comment Mark.

In the 'The Genus Galanthus' book Aaron Davies on page162 clearly states there is no basis for this, having examined populations in the wild and seen their variability. I wonder where it was published and what new information has become available.Perhaps we are moving towards the publication of another expensive revised edition!

Hi Rob

I went to the Bromsgrove Gala 3 or 4 years ago (the first & only gala I've attended) & I felt very out of place not because of anything anyone had done but just because of my stupid shyness.......I found it very intense & overwhelming, so I empathise with how you feel, though I'm sure it's not true that no-one would want you to go again!!

I hope to go again sometime if the venue is closer to where I live as like you I do not enjoy travelling very much.

Take care fellow plant lover.

Mike

Thank you all for posting these photos it's appreciated very much.
