On Friday 21stMay 2010 at 1500 hrs on BBC Radio 4, UK,( or on digital, I think !) there is the first airing of a programme of Gardeners' Question Time , recorded at Aboyne in Aberdeenshire in April.  This programme will be repeated on Sunday 23rd May at 1400 hrs.
When Liz Mills was asked to appear in a recording in Edinburgh towards the end of last year, her segment was shelved because of the untimely death of GQT team member John Cushnie. This time Ian Young was invited along to speak about the Scottish Rock Garden Club.  Carole Baxter, of the  BBC TV programme and radio Beechgrove Potting Shed colleague of Ian, and herself a member of SRGC is  on the panel.
Let's hope the dates are correct.... the Radio Times got it wrong this week!

Had a trip to Crûg Nursery today and I drove back on the A55 North Wales coast road and the road goes under the Conwy river estuary by means of a long tunnel.  Just as I reached the tunnel, I heard Ian's dulcet tones on Gardeners' question time.  Of course, there is no signal in the tunnel, so I missed most of it.  Just as well there's chance to listen again:

I asked for money for providing updates and videos so after saying they can't link to youtube they have decided they can.

They also want to do a possible 30 minute programme based on my interest. I'll get them then!

It sounded great this morning - I'm about half way through the programme - with only a couple of edits and a few dropped words here and there.

Blast the BBC. What would be so difficult or such a big deal about making these programmes available outside the UK? >:(

Heard Ian on player - the BBC could do no better than engage Ian as John Cushnie's successor.
Yemen, what a country ... Haraz mountains, Socotra, Sana'a, Hadramaut, the empty quarter.... a country of stunning, mind altering beauty...and the friendliest of people.
