There are only few spring blooming leucojums and one of best is L. varnum with its 3 varieties. The best is var. carpathicum. Easy separable from others by two yellow tiped flowers on each stem. With me it naturalised under large trees in old garden part. Last autumn I found few unknown bulbs in bulb shed when cleaned it late autumn and planted them in pots. Was very surprised seeing that they turned to this beautiful form of L. vernum. Never before tried it in pots.

Is there an other way of determinate  Leucojum vernum carpathicum
and Leucojum vernum The plants I bought in Holland are sometimes yellow
an in an other year green tipped
some years I have a lot of Yellows
they are now out of flower no pictures

Typical vernum var vernum has one flower on stem with green tips
var vagneri has two flowers on stem, flower segments are with green tips, angular in shape, wild distributed in Roumania
var carpathicum has two flowers on stem, flower segments are rounded and with bright yellow tips, distributed in W Ukraine, Eastern Carpathian mountains (may be something further to West).
Such are typical plants, but they can hybridize in garden and so seedlings can vary. I grow my carpathicum far from other forms of L. vernum to keep it clean as it is selfsowing. var vagneri is grown at my wife's nursery, 15 km from my place - to keep it clean. var vernum I decided better not to grow, but it still is in far corner of my nursery (500 m from carpathicum)

I try to find some real carpaticums to see the difference
between my yellows
As far as I know is this nursery where I bought them

Who knows the ssp. from this Leucojum aestivum
It is I think from Turkish origin
