What a wonderful feast for the eyes brought to us in pans that are over flowing with special exhibits - thanks so much Photographers, Cliff, Chris and George for capturing the Show so magnificently and it's great to read a little about the growing from seed collected and learn more about the plants.

The Primulas are so diverse and a good enough to 'eat' - how could anyone there tear themselves away to consider other food than this  :o

Every entry photographed is gorgeous in its own right but many congratulations to:
Tom for his Sebaea getting the Farrer
The winning six pan entry in the 'B' Section shown by Jim Watson
My all time favourite:

Viola trinervata shown by George Young

I think Diane is just confusing the two similar names F. davidii is the unusual Chinese species with the funny leaves.

I always have to think carefully so that I do not mix up the names of these two very different looking species.

Last post now edited.  I also have to think carefully and remind myself Peter Davis went to Greece, Pere David went to China.

Diana was Goddess of the moon, hunting and chastity - what a combination  :o
And, as Ben Jonson put it: "Queen and huntress, chaste and fair".
I'm none of those  :-*

Not only in a world of her own but her combinations are well under wraps as well.  Didn't even spot them whilst she was in training for the Pudsey Pig.  I have to say Johnnie and Clare Dower and Brian and I left all the rest in the pub waiting for their puddings ::) ::) ::)Some people take this competition very seriously ;D.

And some competitors clearly don't take it seriously enough ;D

Those same competitors were seen tucking into sizable cakes the following day, Martin ... private training sessions at Ramsbottom Cricket Club during the local horticultural club spring show. They were also seen eyeing up the competitive displays of eggs, wine, bread and preserves!!!

Are there set rules for training sessions, such as time allowed, items eaten etc.? And if at the cricket club, does the training take place in the canteen or in the nets? Maybe the rules allow anything at all and it's every piglet or pigletess for him/herself?

All sorts of nasturtiums and combinations being thrown about here   :o  :o
I think the only safe response is for me to just post some more pictures (having just got home after the weekend away)

There may be some repeats, for which I apologise.
