Diane, how tall were the Trillium ovatum var. hibbersonii? Mine only grows to about two inches tall but I believe it can be twice that.

To give an idea of scale, they were in about a 19cm pot, so I think the plants were about 15cm in height, so as George says, perhaps rather drawn by being under glass

They looked tallish to my eye and, with that degree of pink in the flower, were pretty well over.

Hibbersonii is supposed to be a very dwarf variety. The reason I asked is that they just looked too big. 'Roy Elliot' as a small variety growing to about 15cm at a stretch, but that's still two inches taller than any hibersonii I have seen. They don't look drawn.

Thanks for showing us all these marvelous exhibits!
Maybe we can get to Harrogate 2011 after the Alpines Conference? Any spare seats at the Pudsey table? ;D
cheers

The dates for the Harrogate Show in 2011 are the same as for Alpines 2011, fermi, so no chance to get there, I'm afraid.

Just as well they co-incide Fermi. YOU DON'T NEED TO ASSOCIATE WITH PUDSEY PIGS!!! (Spoken by one who would also be better staying clear away. ;D)

We heard last week that there is no show at Harrogate next year, as there is one at the conference that weekend. Somebody may confirm this or otherwise.
Cheers

There may not be an AGS show at Harrogate, Mick, but the main Show will be on as usual.

Lesley, there will, I hope, be no escape from the Pudsey Pigs... even for those of us who would, as you suggest, do well to avoid any piglet tendencies.... I hope that  all the PPs will be at the Conference...... the whole event can be a training session!!  :D

I'm sure the PPs will be out in force for the International Conference. Not that I'm a member, they don't have a heavyweight division....... ;)

Peter, how about we start such a division for the Conference? ;D  Have a go at beating the PPs at their own game?
