Cyril Lafong won both the small size ( less than 17.5cm pot) and the Open size six pan classes ..... that's 12 great plants needed for only two red "First" labels!

Stan da Prato won the Simpson Salver for the Best Rhododendron in the Show with this pretty  R. 'Ermine'

Some how did not get pixs of the Two Lucs and their most charming wives, Rita and Marijke at the show but here are the Lucs, cap tured at supper, later.....
luc Gilgemyn has just noticed that the flowers in the corner are fake  and looks shocked at this discovery.... either that, or Jean Wyllie said something outrageous (again!!  )

Luc Scheldeman , (otherwise known here as Luc the Second, like some ancient King .... though he was keen to point out how youthful the Lucs are compared to some of us!! ) has a cheery glint in his eye, it seems he was having a good time... we certainly hope that was the case!!

At the show we were delighted to have a visit from our oldest... most senior... local member.... and perhaps the most senior SRGC member worldwide.... Margaret Harper, who is one hundred and one years old and still a keen SRGC Member and devoted to her garden. I believe that in the twelve months or so,Margaret  has given up the several overseas trips she used to make each year.... tells me she is slowing down a bit!!
You'll see in the photo that she is giving Ian a run for his money!

What a wonderful show, so many gorgeous and interesting plants, the standard is so high and it looks as if everyone had a great time. Really eye-catching:

The last show of the season and a very enjoyable one. I have to say I have been surprised but very pleased with my successes.

Had it not been for your comment in the forum Maggi about my pot of Pleione forestii (It looks like that potful will be looking good for the Edinburgh Show next week, Huh??!!) I may never have entered this year.

I would just like to thank the show secretaries who made my first season as easy as it was. Especially Ian Bainbridge at my first show in Edinburgh, who was so welcoming to someone whom he had never seen before. It has been a pleasure meeting everyone and relaxing more as each show passed.
Thanks to the other members and exhibitors who took the time to chat. What a friendly bunch you are.

I'm hooked and will have to see what next year brings.

And to those forum members that are still thinking about entering a show, take the plunge like I did. You may just find it a rewarding and enjoyable day out.

Must have been a hell of a job for the judges with so many excellent plants at the Show.
Ptreridophyllum, Primula ellisiae, Arisaema griffithii and Globularia are a few of the highlights I remember after scrolling through all the pictures.
And reading the comments is a pleasure! Thank you both for showing, Graeme and Maggi.

A fabulous effort from EVERYONE! A million thanks for showing so many stunning plants and putting names to people too, whom otherwise we elsewhere would never know.

A quick note about Lewisia 'George Henley' if anyone is thinking of buying a plant. I brought this home with me from the UK (Ingwersen's I think) in 1981. I still have the original plant which has been shifted to different gardens 4 times and never turned a hair. It is sterile but I have done many cuttings which are easy to root and grow on. The flowers have that beautiful silky look somewhat reminiscent of the related Calandrinias. GH is a plant I would recommend to anyone at all.

What a lovely show.  Thanks for your efforts getting them up for us to see.  I'm so pleased Mike won with his lovely tiarella.  I saw it in their greenhouse last week, it was just stunning.  Loved that centaurea too.  What a cracking plant.

Maggi nice to see the the pictures of the show. I forgot my camera but I knew you would have some lovely pictures on the forum to show my friends.
It was lovely to meet the two Lucs they are both so jolly. I hope they have enjoyed the rest of there trip.

Thanks Maggi for all the effort you and Ian put into the show. I still am amazed at how everything falls onto place on the day and even more amazing is   how so many people can turn up with some amazing plants - l find it so hard to get anything to flower for the day- still l will keep trying.
