Did a new label for my Oxalis 'Sheffield Swan' I am going to get more organised through the winter when I am not busy gardening and copy Ian's way of labelling ( taking a pic, of the label beside the plant ).

Maggi you should be called Mrs Amazing or Queen of the forum you just seem to come up with everything so quickly.

Dabi... I think more of us are hooked after seeing your collection.

Dabi you keep amazing us with your extensive collection. I had no idea that there were so very many.
I have just looked up our permitted list of Oxalis species - the only ones allowed are corniculata, crenata, latifolia and tuberosa.
Prohibited are: semiloba, stricta. And requiring futher evaluation/assessment is adenophylla.

That is our GRAND total - pretty meagre

You are very kind, Dabi, to make this offer.... But I think these Oxalis will not  enjoy life outside in Scotland and I have no space for them under protection of glass.

Dabi, your Oxalis namaquensis photo is absolutely beautiful - I love the yellow with the red edge on the tiny flower and it's good to see some foliage shots - your garden must look amazing with these tiny jewels....I see your little friend is very happy about it

Dabi, your O. luteola is somewhat different from that species as grown here in New Zealand. I can't show you though because mine didn't come up this year and I think I have lost it. It is not quite hardy in NZ. I'll try to fins somone with it and take some pictures. It is one of my favourites, a stong ciron yellow, almost stemless flowers and the bright apple green leaves are a slightly different shape. It flowers in mid winter. We also have a red-blotched leaf form called O. luteola var maculata.

Pat, the ways of your ICON and our Biosecurity list are very mysterious. Among others, O. corniculata which you may import, is a vicious weed here with tiny yellow flowers. No bulbs but creeping stems and a propensity for seeding just about surpassing any other plant! If it gets into a cushion plant or a close mat, you will NEVER get rid of it. And adenophylla is not only very choice indeed, but - in my experience - darned difficult to grow. I know others manage it well but I've lost it several times.

Yes, it is or it certainly does here anyway. My mother's garden was over-run with the little brute and I believe it started out from a plant she bought. Mercifully I don't have it here though I see a few of the slightly larger leaved/flowered plant with deep red foliage and which may be a form of corniculata. It's much easier to control though it too, seeds about readily.
