Arisaema and Bupleurum
« on: July 08, 2010, 05:52:16 PM »
I have an Arisaema which managed through the winter here and came up flowering in a jiffy. I have raised it from seed named A. erubescens, but it looks nothing like A. erubescens compared to the book on Arisaema. Any other suggestions ?

I have also flowered a Bupleurum sp collected in the Altais which I would very much like to know better, so any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated too.

I think your arisaema might be  Arisaema ciliatum.

Looks like ciliatum but the whole plant would be needed for ID.
Ciliatum will be frost hardy in Norrköping - but I assume you already know that.

The Bupleurum looks very much the same as I am growing as Buphleurum longifolium ssp. aureum from Jellitos seed although I am not familiar with the plant so am willing to be challenged.

Paul seems to be away right now..... from his notes on the photos I think the seed came from the Hardy Plant Society of 2005/2006 exchange and was collected in the Altai... perhaps some HPS member can help with more details??
