Stellera seed
« on: June 13, 2007, 04:21:36 PM »
I am lucky to have this single stem of flowers on a small Stellera. I gather these are difficult to get the seed to set . Does anyone know of any ways to assist it in setting seed?

That is gorgeous Ian. Maybe not much you can do but worth hand-pollinating each flower. Try a very fine water colour brush - the finest you can get - and twiddle it in the mouth of every flower. Ideally, you'd have a couple of plants from different clones but failing that, do what you can. You know who'll be lining up for the first batch of seed. Well, a couple of seeds anyway. Good luck.
