Yes Maggi, it is scented.

Hurrah... even better! I find that a lot of the smaller flowered cuties are better scented than the big flat ones..... the New Zealand types are lovely..... not that I can ever remember what their names are....petriei  etc...

Maggi, I've never seen any of the NZ ones. I did get seed for quite a few from various seed exchanges this year but had no luck with germination.

Wonderful little clematis Maggiepie   I have a texensis named "Kaiu" having  little white flowers whith purple-grey tinge, as viorna form. I can try to collect seeds if your are interested in

Helen, I love these little clematis but only have a knowledge of those found here in the UK and I am loving this thread   

Your miguel crispa seedling is exquisite - what great photos showing its size and royal purple colour recurved petals - never seen such a beauty before, congratulations.

I'm not sure we get much good seed off ours, Helen... but I'll look.

Nicole, isn't little kaiu beautiful, I believe it is a cross of viorna with viticella. I have been told the viticella comes from campaniflora. I do have kaiu but it doesn't set seed in time to ripen before the frosts. At least it didn't last year. I still tried to germinate them but no luck.

Robin, am so pleased you like the little crispa, I still can't believe my luck at how beautiful it is. I just hope it doesn't change in its second year.
I have a lovely atragene seedling that was so pretty last year, when it flowered this year it looked like a totally different flower.
Yet, when it had a bit of a second flush some months later, the flowers were the same as the original ones.
Very strange.

Helen, a lovely set of photos - certainly not overdone 

I grew purple spider in my old garden and loved it, so dark when it first came out and really spider-like.  Ember is especially lovely and your integrifolia seedling is like a gemstone, translucent in the light

Thanks, Robin, I have to say I am in love with these little flowers.
5 of the pics are various integrifolia seedlings, there is such diversity with the colours and shapes and so easy to grow.
What more can one ask for.
