Maggi,The picture was taken at the beginning of Taroko Gorge near Tayuling (Dayuling) so Euphrasia tarokoana would sound very likely but the online version of the first edition of the FOT states more than 4 taxa........ . E. matsudae and E. bilineata also occur in that area but the differences seem to be in the "hairs" of the various parts and to be honest, I haven't checked that and can't really see on my picture....... And if these 2 other species from the first edition have been synonymised, under which of the 4 in the second edition would that be?Unfortunately I could not find any seeds on it but I have another close-up. Nearby was also flowering Dianthus superbus. Never paid much attention to Dianthus but this species is indeed superb!PS. All species names of Taiwanese plants with "morrison" in them usually refer to Mt. Morrison, nowadays known as Yushan, lying further south.
Any suggestions are appreciated...., even if it is at family levelEdit: just got a private e-mail saying the first might be a Hemiboea.
