Maggi Young made Honorary Vice President of the SRC
« on: November 13, 2010, 08:42:48 PM »
:) :) :) I'm delighted to tell you all that Maggi Young was made an Honorary Vice President of the Scottish Rock Garden Club at its AGM earlier today.  This is an honour given to very few people in our Club and is in tribute to the marvellous work Maggi has done and continues to do in running this Forum.

You will all know better than I the countless hours she devotes to dealing with all your posts and the superb job she does in keeping you all in touch with each other.  I also can't think of a nicer person to have received this award.

So thank you, Maggi, from me and everyone else in the Scottish Rock Garden Club.  Lang mae yer lum reek.

And, no, we're not going to let you change your title to the Honorary President of Vice!

Liz

It was the first time EVER, that I've seen our dear Maggi speechless.  We all know how much time, effort and devotion Maggi puts into this forum, and I was thrilled to be there to see her given this well deserved recognition!  Bravo Maggi.

Now, about that cake.... There she was, trying not to drool as she carefully cut pieces of a special cake with erythronium iced flowers adorning it (made lovingly by Margaret Taylor in honour of Ian's 60TH birthday).   And as I know many of you like cakes, I must report that it was the best fruitcake I've ever had.  Margaret told us she put a lot of Madiera into it after it had been made about 6 weeks ago.  Sure was moist....

Lots of celebrating this afternoon.  But I'm sure Maggi and Ian will be posting some great photos of the AGM.
