Both look as H. hispanica for me
Where did you find them

Maybe good to ask them where they got them from
If bought in the trade they are almost sure hispanica

Here is a picture of why I hate bluebells in the garden.

The big mystery is where they came from as the bed was dug over completely 2 years ago.

If anyone would like them I will happily post them - if not it is the council tip.

P.S.  Have another 3 plants to extract - probably means another 50  :o :'( :o

One day you win as long as they don't seed :)

Just a comment from colder climate than yours. I certainly had H. hispanica, as it was bought in the commerce and under this name. I lost all bulbs in the winter 2 years ago when we had temps down to -30 C without snow. Nothing survived, no seedlings. It was not my love, but was OK as a late flower in an early spring bulb bed. No sign of aggressive behaviour.

I believe I also have H. non-scripta. It was bought in the commerce, but in a company based in UK. The bulbs were clearly different - elongated instead of quite round of H. hispanica (as far as I remember). It pops up late and blooms late - soon will be starting to flower this year. No problem with winter survival. I find it a rather small plant, esp. the leaves. As it is late it is easily shadowed and outcompeted by lush vegetation of advanced spring. As a result flowers are not numerous and overall not very showy. May be if I planted them in more open space they would do better. They do multiply and set seed though. Due to small stature not weedy at all.

Please let me have your address.

I will dry the bulbs and send them when the leaves have gone.

Over here in the US I doubt that I have ever actually seen H. non-scripta.  I have ordered it as bulbs at least 5 times from reportedly reputable dealers, but all I have is more H. hispanicus.  I have them naturalized in my rear yard, where they have seeded and spread very nicely over the past 3 decades or so.  Surprisingly the pinks are winning out over the blue-purples, with alba forms running second,  That weakness of the blue pigmented ones seems strange to me.

Would love to get 'TRUE' non-scripta, but have about given up.

My bluebells grow, the bushes become larger every year, but they never flower.  :'(
