Paddy, I know how happy and proud you must feel. That's how I felt after the birth of my first grandson earlier in the year. Gives you a strangely unique sense of continuity, doesn't it? Even more so than after the birth of your children, I found.

Paddy -  Now we know you are prone to passing along your beautiful babies to grateful forumists but I guess you won't be letting this one away!  She's a beauty. Congratulations.

Many congratulations to you and your family Paddy. There's no one quite as special as a grandchild, or three or four. May you share many wonderful and memorable occasions together. Each one more precious than the next.
Love and best wishes

Many thanks for all the good wishes which are really appreciated.

Today, Mary is much better, rested and recovering. Baby is feeding well and doing all the right baby things. David is more settled this morning, calmed down and relieved that baby has arrived safely and that Mary is well.

Grandfather and grandmother are both well, recovering from the travels and looking to travelling again. It is a wonderful occasion and we are delighted.

For any of the Forum "musos" and especially for Cliff as it will be treat for his ears, and may help his eyes too if he's not feeling to good yet.

How long Paddy, until you have the wee lass standing on a stool at the potting bench? :)

Ah, look what your good eye can see!

Yes, Cliff, we are truly delighted, first grandchild. Many thanks for your kind thoughts.

Lesley, I'm glad to say that our daughter-in-law enjoys gardening and this little girl will be introduced to the pleasures of gardening from an early age. On the other hand, our son avoids all gardening activities like the plague, citing allergy difficulties.

Oh crumbs, just read Cliff's post here: http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6457.msg211255#msg211255 where I discover that the op was a painful as the last time.... but at least he seems positive about things.... caused by relief that it's all over, I expect! Poor Cliff... I do hope others don't have to suffer like this.
