Yikes thisis now slightly old news ( though none the less pleasant for that) this is my fault.... we heard from Carlo then I  read his  news in the Alpine L and so "thought"  he'd posted it here!

Carlo has  got a great new job in Canada:

I am happy to report that I am the new Head of Horticulture for the Royal Botanical Gardens in Canada (the country's largest)!


I start as soon as appropriate paperwork for a move into the country can be arranged (and will  be moving sometime after that as soon as THAT process can be arranged).

This sounds like a super post and a grand challenge for Carlo to get his teeth inot.... all congratulations to Carlo and best wishes for the job and the move!

YES I am in Canada. Two days into the job at the Royal Botanical Gardens and headed into my first full week. Sharon and I are settling ourselves in Hamilton and beginning to learn the town. The garden is a large, complex place and will take as long to familiarize myself with as the new city. All indications are that it'll be a great situation. It's a big job, but I think the support is there from the institution to take a good go at it.

Needless to say, any forumists stopping by should be sure to make themselves known!
