As no one has posted here for a few days I thought I should add to the happiness quotient of the club by saying how happy I am with my new gadget - an ipad - with an orange cover (that may not be important, but it is jolly!) It is transforming how I surf the web at home, yipee!

A picture of my front room on Halloween.  There were a lot of very happy children when they knocked for sweets (and a few scared ones too!).  Some parents asked if they could take some photos of their kids with the giant spider.  ;D

Well, you might be happy, but I'd be very worried about the type of pest that you seem to be getting from those exotic plants you grow.... that spider is worse than any we've had from a bunch of bananas....... :o

Wish I'd thought to take pictures of the children who visited here.... I think that every year.... too little too late!  Now trying to decide whether or not to give the neighbouring little ones the left-over sweeties or scoff 'em ourselves!

Sue, I know how you feel. My husband got one for his birthday, with a blue cover, and this made ME very happy. :) now I can surf in the livingroom every time I want and donn't need to ask permission for using the computer.
The time I spend at the forum is more and more. :P

I wouldn't have a dilemma if it were decent candy... it's rather tasteless horribly bland (alright, I tried some!) gummy stuff that is guaranteed free from e-numbers, artificial additiives etc etc... nothing tasty in there at all... Ian bought it!  :o ::) :-X

It is a truly miserable day here today, a day which was overcast from start to finish with light rain in the morning and heavy rain from about 11a.m. onwards. How good then to receive a parcel with some wonderful books, all about beautiful gardens in Spain or Italy. It was a bit like receiving holiday brochures on a cold January day.

Close to Paradise, The Gardens of Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast by Robert I.C.Fisher
Great Gardens of Spain by Anneli Bojstad
Hidden Gardens of Spain by Eduardo Mencos
The Best Gardens of Italy by Kirsty McLeod

... Ian bought it!  :o ::) :-X

A likely story. ::)

I'm not very happy at present but all the same, was very pleased to be given a piece of Primula x Pubescens 'Rufus' after a meeting in Ashburton (meeting with talk from me Monday night, Primula next morning from my hostess) yesterday as this old red is one which seems to have slipped off the radar recently and some plants from a commercial source have collapsed for no obvious reason. This chunk looks wonderfully healthy so I'll take some of the offshoots and pot them separately.

It's true.... I'd have bought gooey chocolate for them! Ian was going for the "healthy" option.... yuck!

I no longer have that variety either.... it got virus. :( I used to have a lot of  those old primula types but not any more.
