Thanks for that Cliff . I also followed a few links from there .

Ate breakfast whilst looking at Socotra , Tristan da Cunha , St.Helena and then somehow back to Barry , Wales to find out that Alistair Reynolds listens to NZ music (Ladyhawke) . Don't know how I kept up the pace

Oh yes, that would come under the happy banner.

Ian got a parcel with a HUGE book about Willem de Kooning ( the artist).... nearly needed two folk to lift it off the van...  not good for bedtime reading! With that and the lovely book he was given as a present in Gent at the weekend.... and me with Belgian chocs to munch... we're both happy!

I bought 4 bags of Arthur Bowers Seed Compost.  The compost was supposed to be finely textured for seeds - it was not.

I took phots of the compost in my seive, after seiving - 3 samples - and sent them to Sinclair.

Within 2 days I was in receipt of a letter of explanation and vouchers to the full value of the 4 bags of compost.

The explanation for the hard lumps was "In 2010 we had a problem with a hole in one of our screens on the production line.  This screen would normally have sieved out the lumps from the compost.  Instead the hole allowed some of the lumps to pass through the screen into the compost mixes.  In October 2010 we shut the factory for a week to allow for necessary machine maintenance - one of the jobs was to replace this faulty screen."    I wonder how many tons of compost was made before the maintenance was performed?  ???

I always like discovering new music, and it's been a while since we had any music-related posts here, so I thought I'd share this one, incredibly moving.

Welcome to New Zealand Arthur. A box of Shredded Wheat is nearly $12 in the local supermarket (Pack 'n' Save). Petrol, however, is $2.06/litre and after this week's shop, we'll save 25c/litre. 8)
