Well there you go, I knew three (wise) old men would step out, and with jokes older than they are

All these plants I didn't know even existed The AGS paper list has arrived here. I think the notes provided by Diane are quite superb: the extra work that is caused by name changes just piles on the effort required to get the list organised and I hope we all appreciate the work that goes in from that perspective, not to mention all the other aspects of collecting and sending the seed, collating the seed, packing etc....an enormous amount of work for the members.

Anyone able to get to Pershore to help with the AGS Seed packing, as with volunteers for the SRGC packing, will be rewarded with tea and cake.... if that's not an incentive to help I don't know what is! Seriously, I know the AGS website is still asking for more volunteers so if anyone is able to help out with the picking and packing of seed orders at Pershore please do make contact with Diane for the AGS at diane.clement@agsgroups.org or telephone AGS Centre 01386 554790

And thanks, Maggi for the plug!
I'm so, so, so happy and thrilled and delighted! A few months ago I sent some seed to a gentleman in Japan. It was nothing special to me but seems to have been special for him (Aristolochia longa) as today in the post I have received a parcel containing a HANTEN. It is a most exquisite garment, a short coat, soft, warm and padded, for casual wear indoors or out, on cold days. Lined with a pink fabric and beautifully made tt has a white ground colour with black roses and leaves and gold, purple and cerise chysanthemums on it. He tells me it is designed by a top Japanese fashion designer and it is something I'll treasure for the rest of my life. He also sent pictures of the Aristolochia seedlings so I'm very happy they have germinated for him.Where, you ask, is the photo of the hanten? Well it will come soon. I may have to lose a little weight though before I can wear it in public.
