I have been absorbed in the AGS seedlist today. I discovered the brilliant online list with instant google links and have already spent 3 hours on it and I'm only up to the Ds. All these plants I didn't know even existed  :o
The AGS paper list has arrived here. I think the notes provided by Diane are quite superb: the extra work that is caused by name changes just piles on the effort required to get the list organised and I hope we all appreciate the work that goes in from that perspective, not to mention all the other aspects of collecting and sending the seed, collating the seed, packing etc....an enormous amount of work for the members.

Thanks for your comments, Maggi, Anne and others.  Only just catching up with this thread, been too busy doing the job   ;) (this thread seems to have been highjacked by the worst punsters around  :o )
Anyone able to get to Pershore to help with the AGS Seed  packing, as with volunteers for the SRGC packing, will be rewarded with tea and cake.... if that's not an incentive to help I don't know what is! Seriously, I know the AGS website is still asking for more volunteers so if anyone is able to help out with the picking and packing of seed orders at Pershore  please do make contact with Diane for the AGS  at diane.clement@agsgroups.org or telephone AGS Centre 01386 554790

And thanks, Maggi for the plug!  Yes, any help anyone can give will be most welcome.  Just get in touch with me if you can help.

Just added a picture of the seed at Pershore, all racked up and ready for order picking.

I'm so, so, so happy and thrilled and delighted! ;D
A few months ago I sent some seed to a gentleman in Japan. It was nothing special to me but seems to have been special for him (Aristolochia longa) as today in the post I have received a parcel containing a  HANTEN. It is a most exquisite garment, a short coat, soft, warm and padded, for casual wear indoors or out, on cold days. Lined with a pink fabric and beautifully made tt has a white ground colour with black roses and leaves and gold, purple and cerise chysanthemums on it. He tells me it is designed by a top Japanese fashion designer and it is something I'll treasure for the rest of my life.

He also sent pictures of the Aristolochia seedlings so I'm very happy they have germinated for him.

Where, you ask, is the photo of the hanten? Well it will come soon. I may have to lose a little weight though before I can wear it in public. ;D

These made me laugh, even though there are groaners within, so had to share

1.  Two blondes walk into a building ....... You'd think at least one of them would have seen it.

2.  Phone answering machine message - '...If you want to buy marijuana, press the hash key...'

3.  A guy walks into the psychiatrist wearing only Clingfilm for shorts. The shrink says, 'Well, I can clearly see you're nuts.'

4.  I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

5.  I went to the butchers the other day and I bet him 50 quid that he couldn't reach the meat off the top shelf. He said, 'No, the steaks are too high.'

6.  My friend drowned in a bowl of muesli. A strong currant pulled him in.

7. A man came round in hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, 'Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!'  The doctor replied, 'I know you can't, I've cut your arms off'.

8.  I went to a seafood disco last week and pulled a muscle.

9. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly. They lit a fire in the craft, it sank, proving once and for all that you can't have your kayak and heat it.

10. Our ice cream man was found lying on the floor of his van covered with hundreds and thousands.  Police say that he topped himself.

11.  Man goes to the doctor, with a strawberry growing out of his head.  Doc says 'I'll give you some cream to put on it.'

12.  'Doc I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass of Home'.  'That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome.'  'Is it common?'  'It's not unusual.'

13. A man takes his Rottweiller to the vet. 'My dog is cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?'  'Well,' said the vet, 'let's have a look at him'.
So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then he checks his teeth. Finally, he says, 'I'm going to have to put him down.' 'What?  Because he's cross-eyed?'  'No, because he's really heavy'.

14.  What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

15.  So I was getting into my car, and this bloke says to me 'Can you give me a lift?'  I said 'Sure, you look great, the world's your oyster, go for it..'

16. Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. There are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them.  It's either my mum or my Dad, or my older brother Colin, or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu.  But I think it’s Colin.

17. Two fat blokes in a pub, one says to the other 'Your round.' The other one says 'So are you, you fat git!'

18.  Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, and the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.

19. 'You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.' So that was nice.'

20.  A man walked into the doctors, he said, 'I've hurt my arm in several places'.  The doctor said, 'Well don't go there anymore!

21.  Ireland's worst air disaster occurred early this morning when a small two-seater Cessna plane crashed into a cemetery.  Irish search and rescue workers have recovered 2826 bodies so far and expect that number to climb as digging continues into the night.

I read this one this morning and this is how I remember it.

Two old ladies were sitting outside a hall in which a flowershow was being held. One said how boring life was. The other said "I'll give you $5 if you'll strip naked and run into the flowershow and out again." So the bored one striped to her skin, ran into the hall and rushed around the exhibits. In a moment the other old lady heard a great commotion and the naked one came running out grinning, followed by all the people in the hall, everyone clapping and cheering."What's going on?" said her friend. "I got championship prize for best dried arrangement."

I do not usually bother with the happy or miserable threads but picked up this posting from Lesley and so will mention what happened to me.

I have had a similar experience after sending some aristolochia roots I received  three beautiful wildflower books quite out of proportion to what I had sent. His generosity is quite overwhelming.

I'm so pleased for you Tony. I agree, this man is really a most generous and charming person. He must be really besotted by Aristolochias. :D He has been a Forumist for about a year but has not posted.
