Probably for the same reason that fishing was banned on a Sunday (before some nice person invented that Western peculiarity "The Weekend"): to keep the riffraff away.

Yesterday, despite the fog, we went to see a friend's collection.  We had a very enjoyable day culminating with a walk by the source of the river Glaven where her sister-in-law has been planting huge drifts of nivalis, they made a lovely walk and hopefully when they open on Sunday for St John's Ambulance they will make a good amount for them.  I was also given this rather nice viridice found in a churchyard some years ago, they called it v. All Saints, I particularly like the way that the spathe curls over.

Anthony I am told it is, and as it has been some time since it was first found I have no reason to doubt it.

News of Galanthus events is what this thread is about so I think you should post the link.  As this is an English (or is it a Scottish?) language forum, it might be helpful to provide an English translation if possible.
