Sad news of the death of two Irish gardeners

For want of a better place to mention this: Here in Ireland we have lost two of our great gardeners. Mrs. Rosemary Browne of Bray, Co. Wicklow and Dr. Keith Lamb of Clara, Co. Offaly.

These two kindest of people were a tremendous inspiration to a whole generation of Irish gardeners. We had the pleasure of visiting their gardens on many occasions and were always made so very welcome.

Keith will be remembered by snowdrop enthusiasts for his introduction, G. 'Castlegar'.

This is sad news indeed, Paddy.  A tremendous feeling of loss when such characters pass on, for the loss of the person and their knowledge.

Another Irish gardener, Arthur Dagge, passed away at the end of January, see AGS Web Site.

So he did, David. He was a hardworking member of the AGS Dublin group.

I am so sorry, to hear that sad news,Paddy Gardeners are very kind of people, especially when they give so much  kindness and knowledge to others. I wish we had more people like them ... to show young generation how it is wonderful to grow Gardens.

One of our fondest memories before we left England to live in the USA was the weekend we spent at the Dublin Show.
So many wonderful people, such incredible hospitality.
Our condolences to the families of all those who have left for the great garden in the sky.

UK members and regulars at the SRGC Discussion Weekends will be sorry to hear of the death last week of Jean Mowle, of Hest Bank, by Lancaster.
Jean, who among other activities and duties was the Tree Warden for Slyne-with-Hest was the wife of David Mowle, a very well known and respected grower and judge in SRGC and AGS.
Our condolences to David and the Family on the loss of Jean.
