Lovely pictures Cliff. We must go to Switzerland before we get too old!

..........Mark, have you seen Ms Grogan lately... she's like a scrawny wrinkled pixie.

Dear Mrs Young,

I act as agent for the Solicitors Sue,Grabbit and Runne of whom you will no doubt have heard. My firm acts in the interests of Scrawny Wrinkled Pixies the world over, and I have noted that you are in writing as likening them to a certain Ms Grogan. This is of course a libelous statement (and could also be slanderous-if only I could remember the difference) and we look forward to an appropriate written apology. Should no such apology be forthcoming we shall of course take any necessary further action.

....And furthermore Mrs Young, as a legal representative of the very hastily formed (but already extremely popular) Scrawny Wrinkled Pixies, we must advise you that Aaron Lowlips, Grace Saidtwice, Purple P. Heartlapse and Kronic J. Windup have instructed me to pursue damages jointly on their behalves regarding your implied slur that said Ms G. could hold a candle to their innovative garage forecourt rap gospel punk rock gypsy king style.

...Oh and peace to all the bruvvers........(and Joe Brown, of course)!

Cliff,
I think Clare Grogan is a Scottish actress and singer.

Cliff,

I had spent some time on the internet this morning looking up Wengen, the sites you recommended among those visited, and was very impressed.

Mrs. T. likes to hear 'swimming pool, spa, etc etc'

And why not, Paddy; those are excellent words to hear in conjunction with holidays, or, even better, everyday life!

I would make a reply to Messrs Nicholson and Booker, in their respective roles for their esteemed organisations, but my own legal representatives have advised me that maintaining a dignified silence is my best option at the moment. My legal eagles are the old Scottish firm of Wrappit Droppit and Haul'em......formerly better known as a removal firm, but who have now diversified  into estate agency and criminal law... yes, yes, I know most lawyers are criminals, but that'll get me into more trouble...

Perhaps Diane would be so kind as to update you on the merits and whereabouts of hotels, pools, spas, etc. in Wengen, Paddy...having been to this beautiful village more recently than us?  I forgot to mention the cinema as well....is that still operating Diane?

Wengen is a favourite holiday spot of many SRGC and AGS members..... I can think of some very well known and influential persons who would cite it as their MOST favourite venue.... and these are folks that are very choosy about their luxuries at home and abroad and that includes the shopping!

Just add my thanks for a lovely set of pictures.

The composition of flowers in foreground, mountains in background, wonderful.

Elsewhere on the forum with reference to Experts, we have a photographic one :).

Thank you kindly Andrew but, believe me, nobody could fail to get wonderful shots in such a perfect alpine environment.

Many thanks for all information on Wengen. It certainly sounds very nice.

Maggi,

I put those comments re spa etc as Mary's requirements but while I would no doubt enjoy the walking during the day I would equally wish to return to luxury, excellent food and comfort for the night.

Cliff,

My son is sitting beside me at present and was very tickled that there was a man called 'Ranunculus'. He thought it was a very unusual name. After explanation he had me change my signature to one which is more representative of me - according to him, that is. So, I'll leave it for a while at least to pleasure him. It is a sobriquet applied to a well-known snowdrop enthusiast here in Ireland - Banrion na bPlúrini Sneachta (Queen of the Snowdrops!)

Many thanks Olga, Luc and Paddy,
Your kind comments make any small effort more than worthwhile. Will try to add to the Wengen images later today.
Great to see that there is one more 'flower pot man' on this forum Paddy....though 'queen' of the snowdrops may be taking it a TAD too far?   :D
