How wonderful to see sadly deceased and very sorely missed forumist; 'Johannes Hoeller' commemorated on the show benches in the U.K.

Many thanks to George for his beautiful images.
I have quite a number to post but little time until the end of the week.
I particularly liked John Richards exhibit of Primula elatior ssp' meyeri ... two images below.

can't be done.
You might get seed of Budapest strain but's that's as close as you're likely to get.
No-one is 100 percent sure the pure plant still exists.

The plant is 'Douglasbank' it is was the name of Willie Buchanan's house, near Glasgow, where this selection came from originally.

I echo those thoughts, Cliff. It is good to see this planted named for Hans. I am fortunate, as I think several Forumists are, to have a great selection of his collected  or self raised Primula marginata forms ... delightful plants all and all the more precious for reminding us of our departed friend.

The P arginata 'Johannes Hoeller' was shown by me...sadly ignored by the judges.. but I do know this plant was raised from wild collected seed by Johannes as he e mailed me when I asked the forum of the origins of the plant. My specimens came from Susan Tindall who I think obtained her plants via JH...the flowers are large and a nice shade...was hoping it might last till Hexham but doubt it.
Thanks for the Douglasbank i/d

That's what I thought too Cliff. Just yesterday I was potting up seedlings from his Dianthus haematocalyx v. pindicola.
