I'll be there, yet again in my red forumist sweatshirt (I do actually have other clothing...), so please stop me and say hello if you will be there too.

It is also farmers market day in Hexham so an opportunity to stock up on nice (calorific) food...
Last year we spent more at the farmers market than we did on plants at the show. This must be some kind of record, or at least a sign of confused priorities....

Just recently returned from the Hexham show and thought I'd post a picture of the Farrer Medal plant: Primula Broadwell Milkmaid.
When I say that the exhibitor was a cross-border raider, you will not be surprised to learn that it is none other than Cyril Lafong.
I didn't take many pictures (as show secretary you're not meant to have the time to take
any
), but I have a handful (literally) taken in a spare 5 minutes. The others will follow tomorrow after a good night's sleep.

Glad you had a good day, Peter, thanks for the picture.
Cyril is in Denmark with Ian -they were speaking at a one day event today. Ian Christie had taken the plant down to Hexham for Cyril.... Ian C's not going to tell him till he gets home.... what a super surprise, eh?
I am pretty sure that Cyril won't see the Forum while they're away so the surprise won't be spoiled.
This is the second time Cyril has sent a plant to one of the joint shows and won a Farrer Medal. Well done Cyril!!
Angela, Maureen was there, Jean told me they were chatting.

Alan Furness won the Sandhoe Trophy for this one, but I forgot to photo the plant name. Someone better let me know what it is. It was beautiful, that's for sure

Ranunculus ficaria Brazen Hussey this photo doesn't do justice to the perfection of the foliage, too much reflected light in the room but it was a wonderful sight

My sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this show the success it was. I did just one hour on the admission desk and we sold loads of raffle tickets to people who lusted after the blue eggs donated by Pearl Dale.... and it was really busy despite the fact people were going to have to hang around another hour or more to see the show. Wish I could have taken more photos, but there just didn't seem to be enough time to do it all, so I don't think I even got into section one. But I'm sure others did and they will fill in the huge gap over what I've posted here.
