I would like to see the exhibition but will see any left overs while I'm in Aberdeen. Ian also tells us he will be in Ireland in January which will be exciting!

Two points, Mark... first I hope you will understand that we are hopeful that there will be VERY few leftovers when you visit... Christmas shopping and all that, you know! David had the right idea!
Second: I think Ian is going to Ireland in March or April 2007, can't remember that, either... I get worse!

Okay, I've looked at the calendar... it seems he's in Dublin for 15th April.

excellent news and there I was hoping he would be over at snowdrop time to send him home with White Fever. There will be many northerners at the meeting. And that gives me 5 months to get the back the back garden in to shape for a possible visit

Those bird prints are awesome Ian. I think the puffin just leaps off the screen. Are those gannets or blue-faced boobies? Really cool   and I know someone who would love the, er, green cormorant. I could certainly live with any or all of them. Are they "one offs" or do you do a number of each one?

Hi All thanks for your good wishes and comments, I do hope for and need good sales from the exhibition as it is one of the sources of my income.
Anthony they are limited editions of 10 or 15 but as the process to make each print is  hand done I see them as 15 very similar images rather than 15 identical ones. These are not like the mechanically and digitally produced prints we see. I have 40 works in the Exhibition which opens tomorrow, private view tonight.
The good thing about having an edition is that I will keep a proof of every one so Mark there will be something for you to see when you are over in January and David thanks for the offer to carry my bags, I have a few of those - offers to carry that is not bags.
More when I return from my trip.
PS. they are Gannets. Artistic licence (license?) and all that!

May I add my praise to those below, for your artistry and wish you good luck with your exhibition. Do you have a website to publicise your works and if not why not? I would like to see more examples. I am also an art lover as well as a plant lover but sadly was not blessed with the talent to produce, only to admire. Pat was given the gift but seldom uses it, much to my annoyance, since if I could I would. 

Forgot to mention. very interesting article on growing Saffron. I no longer have an airing cupboard. how about the microwave?!!!

if it's not too difficult perhaps you could bring some prints when you visit NZ in 2008! (hopefully I'll be able to get across the pond for that!); do you do flowers as well?

Hello, All, Maggi here! The bearded despot is off the England to meet lots of southern gardeners so it will be a while until he can thank you himself, which I know he will, sincerely.
Fermi, no, he tends not to do flowers. He used to make large metal sculptures but now he mostly makes constructions that are like sculpted pictures, boxes and triptyches, full of carved and painted things, very tribal art influenced, and, of course, for two years he has been busy with the series of collograph prints that make up the backbone of this current exhibition.
Anne, we know of your artistic prowess your kind comments are very welcome!

The opening of the show went very well last night.. have to say the overall effect is super when you see the whole series together ( forty prints and various boxes) It looks great and I am hugely proud of him!

Hi All, I am back from my lecture tour of deepest England very tired but content that all my talks were well received and I was extremely well looked after - more on my trip later.
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and good wishes regarding my exhiition. It too has been well received and attracting a lot of interest, good sales and a review that makes me blush.
I have much to catch up with in the forum and emails; it is a delight to see how many posts there have been since I have been away as well as a good number of new members, my warm welcome to you all.
Now I am off to have a rest for today.
