CALLING ALL PUDSEY PIGLETS
« on: April 06, 2011, 05:40:27 PM »
Since there is no show at Pudsey this year alternative arrangements have had to be made. Diane suggested that we should hold it at the East Cheshire Show which is in Wilmslow this year.  Brian and I have been instructed to find a suitable venue and will probably be out and about on your behalf next week.

Since Wilmslow is rather POSH we thought it should probably be renamed THE WILMSLOW WILD BOAR. So dust off your knives and forks and get into your training schedule.  Colin Dolding won it last year so he will be presenting the wonderful shield donated by John Bunn and perhaps a little pig as well.

As JohnnieD will tell you the rules are there are no rules, we make them up as we go along.

Look forward to seeing you all.
Shelagh, Bury, Lancs.

Such dedication...... I am touched at the this evidence of how far the Smethies are prepared to go, literally and metaphorically, in pursuit of a perfect  venue for this year's contest.
What troopers, eh?
Though, of course, it might be said they will gain an unfair advantage.....sussing out the venue.... may mean getting a practice crack  at the menu..... :-\ :-\ :o :o
I would never stoop so low as to think that, of course.  :-X

I assure you it is not simply jealousy on my part that I cannot compete in this illustrious contest that moves me to say that even if the event is renamed as the Wilmslow Wild Boar that I know a bunch of piglets when I see them....... ;) ;D

Much prefer the WILMSLOW WARTHOG, Shelagh.
According to Wikipedia, "whilst feeding, they often bend the front feet backwards and move around on the wrists"
Sounds like a number of the past winners if you ask me!!!

You should know Alan, are you speaking from experience or did you put the Wikipedia entry in? ;D

WILMSLOW WARTHOG
Now THAT has a ring to it!  Very impressive.... and all the right connotations, too.... hungry creature, not too fussy about what it scoffs,  gregarious and good family values..... sounds just the ticket..... :)

The Piglets could use the Forum for the purposes of a vote on the new moniker..... it's coming up to voting season, so very topical.......

Shelagh can you get this message through to Fermi, still in transit maybe. I know he is hoping to take part this year. He certainly has the shape for it. ;D Don't think he has warts though.
