Dear Yjia,

wonderful pictures. Thanks.
I am wondering with which Peony it was growing? P. veitchii? Do you have photos of these too?

Best wishes

A very beautiful plant, and good to see it from the wild. How tall were the plants?

Many thanks for showing us these beautiful plants growing in their natural environment.
I always admired pictures of them in Ian's Weekly bulblog.

Are they for sale in England? I've never come across them but would love to. :)

Cotswold Garden Flowers list it, Maren. And I think Rannweig Wallis may do.... in Wales  ;)  Potterton's perhaps, Susan Band at PitcaringreenPitcairngreen, Lamberton, Edrom? All possibles.

Thank you Maggi, I'll follow these up. I googled but there was nothing. Clearly, there is nothing better than a person who knows. ;D ;D ;D

Both exquisite blooms. What do they need to do well?

These 2 species grow together but Fritillaria not sure can tolerate wet weather in summer.  P.intermedia is easy to grow whatever in very dry or medium moist locations.
And, give them full sun and fresh air, and patient....the F.yuminensis reach flower size in 4 or 5 years from seeds---1 flower only~  and then more and more. If you grow it over 12 years, it maybe produce a spike with over 30 flowers.....

The Fritillaria is permitted as seed into Australia but the Paeonia is not listed. Blow. Could it be grouped with another species to get it in?

It's probably permitted in under it's old synonym, P. anomala ssp. intermedia, but according to Hong it's closer to P. tenuifolia.
