Cliff, I love those pictures of the meadows. Looking at nr. 53, I can hear the insects around and hear the
dead grass under my feet on such a nice warm day in the mountains.
A place to go for and just sit down and enjoy ...  :)

As the magnificent Roy Orbison would say; 'It's Over'.......the final twenty images of a mammoth production. Many thanks for all your kind words....if you haven't considered northern Italy for your next holiday by now, then you probably won't even after another few hundred photos!
The final image is there to prove that we all make tremendous errors (and my recycle bin is usually full of them).

These are just amazing/wonderful/stunning.
They have had the effect of getting me of the sofa and arrange a short holiday to north-east Italy - so I thought here would be the right place to ask for suggestions and advice about the area I'll be at. I've looked through the AGS index and couldn't see anything which looked like the right area. I'll be staying in the town of Bassano del Grappa which sits just where there is a major valley going into the mountains from the plains and is just to the west of Monte Grappa - which certainly looks pretty craggy from Google earth! I'm going out for the first few days of May to stay with a friend whose working there and would appreciate any information about where to go at that time of the year. We'll be on public transport which might limit us a bit.
All suggestions greatfully received.

PS One thing I am impressed by is that it will only take 4 trains to get from Newcastle to Bassano

That does seem remarkable... however, my sister, who usually lives in the mountains in Alberta, has just spent some weeks in Bassano ... down on the plains there..... it would take rather more than your four trains to get to that Bassano, though, since it is NOT in the mountains, why would you want to? :P
