Horticulturist (Alpine Department)
Starting Salary: £15,373 (Pay Band B)
The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh requests applications from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for a horticultural post within the Alpine department. This is a permanent, full-time post.
In this job you will be involved in maintaining and increasing the living collection, potting, weeding, watering, propagation, planting, cutting grass as well as being involved in project work within the outdoor living collections department.
Applicants must be qualified to National Certificate/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent, have the ability to work to a very high standard, be computer literate, be able to work in a group situation or individually and be highly motivated. Additionally, the successful candidate should have knowledge of botanical horticulture, garden maintenance, an interest in alpine plants and be experienced in propagation techniques. Previous, practical horticultural experience is desirable.
