Poppy for id
« on: June 16, 2011, 10:42:53 PM »
I have two self-sown seedling poppies flowering just now.  They are about a metre tall and biennial or monocarpic.  The originals were grown from seed as Papaver triniifolium.  I was doubtful at the time as the leaves are less deeply divided and the flowers bigger than triniifolium I had grown previously.  The picture of Papaver fugax in Oron's Georgian trip looks very similar which prompted me to check C Grey-Wilson's poppy book which seems to confirm the id.  I'd appreciate the opinion of fellow forumists.
