Friends in Canada

As the Royal visit proceeds I thought it might be appropriate to reassure our friends in Canada that there are indeed far worse manglers of French pronunciation in the UK (and I count myself as one of them!) ;D

And the tour is going very well David.  Will & Kate were in Prince Edward Island today.  Thirty thousand turned out in Charlottetown to see them in the landau, by the way the population of C'town is 30,000, lots of tourists there though.  Will and Kate manned oars in separate boats at a dragon boat race and Will's boat won, Kate looked drenched at the rear of her boat.  He then flew a Seaking for an hour fine-tuning a new rescue manoevre developed by the Canadian Coast Guard.  They're now off on the flight to Yellowknife.

Three hundred thousand turned out to see them in Ottawa on the first of July.

That poor girl already looks anorexic. I hope someone gets that sorted before it becomes a real problem. OK so I'm the opposite but even to a skinny person she is looking decidedly stick-like. :(

Lesley, I have to disagree, I think she is just very slender.
Her arms and legs don't look bony to me.
Reminds me of me in my youth  ;D ;D ;D

I hope you're right Helen. Needless-to-say she doesn't remind me of me at ANY age. :(

Well, of course not, Lelsey, the Duchess is a brunette :D

There has been a distinct change in the shape of the former Miss M. in the run-up to the wedding.... she does look lovely, especially in a long dress.... but those skinny coltish legs are better if you're under 25 ! IMO  ;D

I was very skinny in my youth but it's hard to be "coltish" in the leg department when you're only 5 foot three and 13/sixteenths.  :-[

A sad fact of life I'm afraid to say. A spinal specialist told us in college that the tallest we are ever going to be is when we are around our early twenties. It's all downhill from there! :o The older we get the more the vertebral discs dehydrate and as they flatten out we lose a fair bit of our height  :'(
It's why the kids always getter taller than their folks in those family photos!
cheers

Boys are always taller than their mothers. Girls - who knows? My mum is (was?) 5' 6"; my sister 5' 3"; her daughter 4' 11"!

I am starting to shrink as well but only in height, the rest has expanded. Fermi to you have an explanation for that. Please don't answer  ;)

Maggi I was slim when I was young but I think happiness, contentment and a good man  :-X makes a rounder person  ;D
