Website difficulties today 26th July
« on: July 26, 2011, 05:47:45 PM »
Apologies to everyone for the disruption to "normal service" today  - the SRGC Website and Forum were offline for several hours... due to some problem at the Server.

All seems to be well now and I hope your time without the site was not too hard to bear ..... seems that a lot of us were taking the time to catch up on re-potting bulbs, house work ( that was really drastic  :o) and with the likes of the NARGS forum!

A few minutes ago, I tried to log on but received the message  Error 403 access denied by server Apache (something or other)

I then came out of XP and into Windows 7 and had no trouble connecting this time.

Any ideas ?

It's working...no it's not.....yes it is......no it's not.  I think I'm developing some kind of obsessive compulsive thing here. That and a nervous twitch. I need my fix regularly, tic, tic  :P :P :P

Sorry, Neil,  it was a case of desperation , I don't normally use that kind of language - I'll wash my mouth out.  ;)

It is also difficult on a sunny day to be without the forum. I have begun to understand that the forum works just like a drug.

This issue is still not fully resolved so the site could go off again. Please bear with us.

I went to have a last look at the Forum as I usually do, before I went to bed around 10.45pm (southern winter time) and had the same message as you did Tom, with all the Forum emails. Went to bed deciding to sort it in the morning, and heigh ho, over night as I sleep, the miracle happens and all seems fine this morning. :D

I ran three anti-virus scanning programmes after first updating them, reset internet settings, cleared cache, checked router, connection etc etc and felt delighted that I had managed to reconnect after all that - it seemed worth the effort and now I find the problems weren't at  my end at all.

Good to have normal services running again.
