Lovely to see so many blooms -apart from the split cups, where I am firmly on Lesley's team!

Me too.
Graham, great to see your babies. I'm glad you did your weeding. You must eat a lot of fish.
My favourites are Part 3, no 1, the reverse bicolour in part 9 no3, and part 13 no4 in which they look like they are in a force nine gale!
In the USA, miniatures are very popular - Harold Koopowitz and Marilyn Howe are well known breeders. We are just starting to embrace miniatures in the UK. It's a long process...
MINIONS! I need more minions!

Part 16
It is also important that someone breeds small split cups for Leslie![/color]

Graham, I am so flattered that someone thinks my needs must be met. Most people wouldn't give a damn about that. I believe Will and Fermi plan to come across the ditch for the daffodil conference in Dunedin next year, Perhaps you will come too? :D

Fermi, Brian Duncan is probably growing as many or more miniatures than us but his are more recent. A lot of ours are involved seedlings. The other person with involved seedlings is Rod Barwick. We have a lot of seedlings. A lot are intermediates. A case of just missed when breeding down! Very suitable for pot culture as can be seen from the fact they grow in boxes.
Graham,
I'm sure ther are a few people who would be happy with your discards! ;D
Are you intending to get to NZ in 2012?
cheers

Hi
Part 25.
If 2012 is anything like 2011 then the answer is we won't be going anywhere. I usually take leave during the daffodil season but this year it is not possible because of my day job. I usually use the leave to do my hybridising so we don't travel much at all during our daffodil season. We hope to go to the east of the US in mid 2012. We have a long standing commitment to visit some daffodil friends on the east coast for the US Convention in Baltimore. I am also committed to visiting my brother and his family in Germany in 2013 (and maybe visit Holland) where he is currently working. The big question is whether we duck across to Nelson for my family's big reunion in early 2012. My maternal grandfather was a descendant of a pioneer settler (Daniel Moore) in Nelson. At some point I also have to find time to finish the landscaping around our new farm house. And yes there will be daffodils -- we have quite a few ferals for that.
As for being a Daffodil Nut that is probably true but I would be more specific -- a Miniature Daffodil Nut. We don't do big daffodils very well but we do miniatures and intermediates very well.

 ;DHi
Anne, we are not fishy at all. The boxes are mostly 1/3 of a bushell vegetable boxes that come with holes in the base for air circulation. A full bushell box is fine but it is very heavy unless some light substance like perlite is used as a soil substitute. However, we did use some different boxes for our miniatures this year. We had some boxes that housed marble for our house and when we ran out of pots we used those boxes. I have already posted the attached photo but if you look carefully you will see the small foam boxes we used for the miniatures.

 :o Hi
I am not sure who has been looking at our photos but most of them are high resolution shots that will show quite a deal of detail when clicked on. This is particularly so in relation to the shots of boxes of miniatures. You will miss the detail if you don't click on the photos. The only short coming is I don't think my new camera shows soft pink as well as the old Nikon. However, it more than makes up for that in being able to take good photos in full sun.
