Thank you both. Given the choice, I think Ill accept David's answer. I have always wanted a Cuitlauzina pendula, killed two, and this is a welcome addition to my tropical collection. This plant looks quite healthy and I hope to keep it that way.
Pity I didn't know what it was; I should have let the flower spike hang naturally. In my ignorance, I staked it half way up, as one does. When the flowers developed fully, the stem broke, being rather too slim for the weight of flowers. I'll know better next time.
