VRV - Lecture day on November the 5th at the Gent University Botanic Gardens

It was already mentioned briefly in another topic a couple of months ago, but so that nobody misses it we just want to post this as a reminder.

On Saturday, November 5th, at 10 o'Clock, our VRV (Flemish Rock Garden Society) organizes another meeting and lecture day at the Botanic Gardens of the University of Gent.

The venue :

Plantentuin Universiteit Gent
Karel Lodewijk Ledeganckstraat 35
9000 GENT
(entrance through the garden at the back - follow the signposts in the building)

There will be a plant raffle, plant sales and lots of opportunities to meet and talk to friends !

It's not just "any other" lecture day !!!  ;D ;D
We are more than proud to annonce that we have invited the one and only  ;D Bulbdespot, Ian Young to enlighten us with no less than 3 of his lectures !

1) High rise and time share
2) The bulb log live
3) Troughs "A fishy tale"

Entrance is free for VRV members and just 2 € for non members. Coffee will be available but please bring your lunch.
We start at 10.00 o'Clock and finish normally at about 15.30 - 16.00 hrs.

We hope to welcome all alpine enthousiasts living within "hopping distance"   ::) of Gent as this is (again!)  an opportunity NOT TO BE MISSED  8)

Ian is certainly looking forward to seeing many friends and giving you all a great day's entertainment in Gent.... he has his travel plans made....



 he is working hard to be ready: he gets up early.....

He'll be somewhere with a pint, eating a plate of chips and mayonnaise followed by chocolates, and closely studying the list (an extensive one) of famous Belgians :P ;D

That'll be the right fellow, then Luc! I expect he is probably fast asleep by now after his nearly ten hour journey by bus, train, plane and car .... I hope that everyone attending the VRV day tomorrow sleeps well tonight and travels safely to and from the event.

We have just come home and I enjoy again
All those beautiful moments of this day with Ian and all other friends are back in my mind. We had a wonderful day. Ian is a great speaker and his approach to gardening has stolen my heart .He is an artist with rocks, plants and he makes miniature landscapes as they also occur naturally.
We have learned so much and gained so much inspiration.
Most important lesson, the nature is the best teacher ...
Thank you very much Ian . Also many thanks to Maggi that we could borrow her sympathetic husband  for this weekend.
