« on: November 08, 2011, 10:40:13 PM »
The Galanthus Gala will take place on Saturday February 11th at the Garden House in Devon. The Gala garden will be the Garden House where Matt will put on a display of snowdrops. The school, still being finalised, is about 10 minutes away.

The pencilled in speakers are

Ranvig Wallis talking about her Trym seedlings, G. krasnovii, G. koenenianus and G. k.....?

Dowling Monroe - modern yellow snowdrops

Joze Bavcon - Slovenian snowdrops

The open gardens on the Sunday are those of Jo Hynes and Rosemoor

For those unable to attend the Gala due to the distance Joe is organising a one off snowdrop sale at Myddelton House Gardens on February 4th.

This is the only venue that Wol and Sue will be attending this year.

Doesn't that mean that the growers will be pretty much sold out by the time of the gala, with not much on the sales tables in Devon? Especially if Wol and Sue won't be there.

They're pretty much the backbone of the sales hall. I suppose Matt will be selling.

No offence, David, but the Gala is such a large and crowded event it would be difficult for anyone to be conspicuously absent.  I would just assume they were lost in the throng somewhere.
