Really enjoyed last year so will be doing the same again, with a few tweaks  ;)

If this date clashes with any big event it can be changed, but really needs to be a Sunday so I can use the tea room.

as before there's no cost involved, just turn up & enjoy the drops, donations of cake welcomed.

Hope to be able to do home made soup for lunch but if the groups that do teas on Sundays in the village hall want the urn I'll probably have to drop that idea but I'll know nearer the time.

numbers limited, if anyone is interested please reply or drop me a pm.

Snowdrops & Cake, now with added Soup! Sun 19th Feb 2012 Benington Lordship

Crikey, if that's not a prospect to draw forumists to a fun event, I really don't know what is?

Richard, if I were within striking distance I would be more than delighted to attend.... I'd even bring soup.

I know just what a marvellous time everyone had last year so I expect there will be as happy a bunch in February.... I'm more than a little disappointed not to be able to join you!

Maggi that's a long way to bring soup  ;)

seems the 19th clashes with a few events (thanks Brian) so perhaps 26th will be better, am a little concerned with everything being so advanced already & I'm likely to be away weekend after & with other events on the previous w/e it'll have to be that one.

I can vouch for last time being a fantastic small gathering - see photos here  :)

Sadly I shall be missing your 2012 gathering Richard as I fly out of the UK on Saturday 18th for a couple of weeks.

I have my fingers crossed that you might arrange a 2013 gathering as I would love to attend (and have a few more snowdrops to get rid of  ;) ).

I highly recommend a wander with Richard through the Bennington Lordship gardens and moat.

Hi Richard

I really enjoyed last year too and would love to come along again. I am happy to drive past Stevenage station (or even Lution airport) if it helps anybody? Will bring a cake and some drops to swop or donate.

Please can you organise some sunshine too? :D

Yes I was planting out some nerines at the weekend and the soil was bone dry. The beginning of December and we are still praying for rain, what on odd year. ::)

I'll just take a few days off, that always works  ::)

lakes are still very low, at least 2ft lower than I would expect for this time of year, still not got much digging done, is just too dry!

Now, whisper this, and keep it among yourselves, because it would just be TOO embarrassing if word got out....... when I was telling Ian about the Snowdrops Cake and Soup  get-together.... he actually looked at his diary to see if he was due to be in England at that time!!  :o :o

I'm thinking it's the lure of soup, cake and Forum chums.......... ::) ??? :-\

No, too much  earlier and too  much later, I think to be practical.
