Having failed in repeated attempts to grow 'proper' primulas I have been amusing myself by sowing the seed from 2 unidentified polyanthus rescued from an overgrown bed in Treborth Botanic Garden. The variation in the progeny is wonderful. Photos attached of the more extreme seedlings from 2009. The plants are open pollinated but the parents are reasonably isolated from the primroses now rampant in my garden.1. seed parent2. pollen parent? 3. seedling 1. Almost P. veris4. seedling 2.
