I've decided not to go. It's 10 days at the start of the surveying season and it's too expensive for me 1000 euro before flights.

Maybe I should attend the SRGC or Dublin Group weekends

I haven't booked a flight yet but am planning to do so on Monday/Tuesday next week.  I can get a good price by Lufthansa stopping only at Singapore and Frankfurt, presumably just for fuel as I leave here April 25th from Christchurch and arrive morning of 27th in Prague. This will give me a few days in Prague to see that beautiful city and hopefully find some good music. Maybe I'll take a 2 or 3 day river cruise on the Vlatava, humming a piece of my favourite music as I go. ;D

I want to book a flight from Toronto Canada, but I'm not sure if there are spaces available for the conference and tour.
I have E-mailed the Czech people direct but have not got an answer back.
Does anyone know how many spaces are available as of now?
I would like to go, but want to make sure there are spaces for both conference and tour.
There are the two of us.
BTW I just became a member of the SRGC, and we are members of the "Ontario Rock Garden and Hardy Plant Society" and of NARGS.

Dear Arie,
you are very welcomed, we have suffient capacity for Conference and Post Conference as well. Sorry I couldn't reply from Conference e-mail, there is some small technical problem from yesterday.

Welcome to the Forum Arnie. It's great that you will be at the Conference. I hope some other Canadians will be there too. I'm all booked up including flights except one from Dunedin to Chch the night before I fly out on Singapore Airlines which I'm looking forward to, as everyone seems to think they're the best for passenger care and comfort. Only to Singapore though then I continue on with Lufthansa. I keep thinking of a tremendous story/joke told by the late, great Howard Pfeiffer (?) about Lufthansa. Wish I had never heard it now! ???

So we are booked, myself and my wife Lee Bolton, booked our flight, (in case any other Canadians want to go $750.00 per person incl taxes by KLM from Toronto to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Prague for 15 days) hotel, conference and tour are booked so all we have to do is wait and wait and wait.
We are also attending the winter study weekend in Pittsburgh from Oct 12 to 14 "Autumn in the garden-Time for troughs" from the North American Rock-Garden Society
I have been a follower of your forum since February 2008 but seldom participate,so I think it is time to start posting pictures etc.
Hope to meet some people in Prague who have an interest in hardy cacti, beside Alpines that is my other hobby.
Yes Lesley it will be nice to have a running list with participants.

Hi Arie,

That's a good price for the journey, and I'm sure we'll meet up when we are over there.  You are not the only lurker here I am sure, many people are shy to participate, so I'm glad you've decided to join in, its great fun and it will be good to meet you in the Czech Republic next year.

Hi Lesley,

Yes, it would be great to know who else from our forum is going, hope they let us know when they book.  I've never been there before so I'm really looking forward to it and all those amazing gardens we've seen pictures of here on the forum before.

Lesley, what a good idea. Elke and Rudi from Germany will also be there.
We look forwards to have a nice time, enjoy lectures, workshops, the good Czech food, meet
old friends and especially the forumists in person and not only virtually.
There will be surely also a chance to obtain some new plants.

No plants for me unfortunately but I believe shoes might be a good bet. ;D
