Poor Lesley!

I won't be buying any because Don and I will be spending a couple of weeks
in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia after the conference ends, travelling partly
by train, so I need to keep my bag light.

Also, it takes a lo-o-ong time to do all the root washing.  I spent at least
two days doing it when I visited before, and the plants were  mostly saxes for
a sax collector in Victoria, so I ended up with just a few plants for myself.

I started my diet last week as the pounds have just been pilling on. Its this cold winter, well thats what I blame. Monday was good, Tuesday not so good and Wednesday, I won't say any more. Oh well everyone says you need a bit of weight on as you get older 

Lesley I am not good at getting up in the morning so god knows what I will look at, who cares we are there to enjoy ourselves. I hope it's not a posh place that we are staying in. I hate these kinds of places, I like to be just me

I didn't mention "diet" Maggi, though I suppose there's no harm in mentioning the word. When they left, Fermi and friends kindly gave me the leftovers from their travels, including a new cake of chocolate mousse, a quantity of gin and even the tonic to go with it.

You might be strong enough to hear the word, Leslie, but the very thought makes me queasy and the word makes me faint! Dreadful four letter word! If only I could conquer my greed......

Your visitors were very generous -  bless' em! But not good for the diet err, I mean, the healthy eating regime.....

They salved my conscience by letting me buy the healthy part. I had to buy the lemons! They had already plied me with a full, new bottle of Gordon's when they arrived.

Actually, I may go on the "D" word forevermore. I have just been cleaning out the oven and the floor and wall under and beside it. Assorted wildlife, dog's hair, fettucine (uncooked) were the least of it. Yuck.

In our room Susann and Angie it may be a case of first up, best dressed?

Well, it sound as you will have your week saved, Lesley, you will look gorgeous all the time. All dressed up while Angie and I stumble down the stairs in our nightgowns ( which gives us one more outfit, Angie!).

Update February 2013 :

Mr Klima has withdrawn from the event and is to be replaced by the Czech seed collector Josef  Jurášek with "Rock Garden plants from  Turkey"

Just to let you know that I received my import permit in the mail today, and am very much looking forward to the conference!  I'll be attending with my good friends Marianne and Roland.   You will be able to pick me out of the crowd because I will be the lady bent over sniffing all the Daphnes!

I'm applying for my import permit this week, and I have to fill out some of the plants I want to bring back.
Besides Daphnes and Saxifraga what are some of the hot items from the Czech Republic I should put on my list ??

I'd give anything to be able to go to this.  Please share with the rest of us.  I wish I could hear Josef Jurasek on the turkish plants.  Hope you will all post information on the Forum.

I am going to hate seeing all of those beautiful plants and not be able to bring any back.  At least I will get pictures.  Too bad my Galaxy can't record the fragrance of the Daphnes.  I will at least get seeds.  It isn't even practical to join for the seed exchange because it costs $45 for a bank transfer.
