My parents used to grow it. I'll ask if they still do. Not very free flowering as I recall.

Thanks for the link. My plant doesnt have dark green leaves typical of woronowii. The mark is small. I'll post a photo soon.

Thanks for posting the photos - it looks like Broadleigh Gardens have mis-named it - where did you get yours from?

Chris I stopped keeping notes years ago. I used to not where I got bulbs from, how many bulbs, how many flowers in year 1, 2, 3 and deaths.

Unfortunately I dont know where I got my bulbs but it must have been from the Gala.

I may grow this form - when I get a chance I will have a look and see how it compares with your plant.

Martin, would you, or maybe your parents, by any chance have any more information about the origins etc of this form of G. woronowii?

I grow it. As a woronowii. It is pretty - nearly as pretty as wor. "Cider with Rosie".

Chris, I'll ask who they got it from and if they know anything else about it. As Joe says (via Mark) I think it was always sold and passed around as coll. E.K. Balls, as in collected by him rather than named for him. My mother used to refer to it as a great foliage ground cover.

Of course originally it was G. ikariae latifolius coll. E.K. Balls. There's a brief mention of it (or perhaps them - sounds like there was more than one collection and introduction) on page 52 of Stern's Snowdrops and Snowflakes.

Many thanks for this reference Martin - I didn't think to look there.
