Hi, folks!  Finally logged back on to this forum and oohed and aaaahhed my way thru my favorite thread -- http://www.srgc.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3584.0 -- only to find it end abruptly in 2010.  After some searching, I have now found you again and look forward to viewing more marvelous photos/drawings/images.

Thanks for sharing.

Welcome back Lois.  We missed you.  We all tried to stay 'arty' while you took your sabbatical, but it wasn't easy ... some of us lapsed and became chroniclers, authors or nuisances at the shows.   :D :-*

Well, then,  I guess I'll have to put up more arty photos!

You know, I am REALLY back on this forum because Maggie Young sent me a birthday card this year.  What a surprise that was!

I've been mostly offline for several years since my Mom lost much of her vision in 2009.  She has come back to California (from Oregon where she and Dad had re-retired 15 years ago and Dad died in 2007) and she has lived 3 different places here.  She is (finally) settled into an assisted living residence in a nearby town.  I still have to do all her reading, writing, finances, computer research, errands, and driving her around; but she now has her own room, a button to push that brings help, and 3 meals a day.  She's 96 and mostly doing well, except for the vision thing; although she has twice scared us with trips to the ER.  Mostly I just get stressed out with worrying about her and trying to help her.  My husband is wonderfully supportive.

Sorry about that long family history.  I just want you-all to understand that I may be away for weeks at a time, but I really REALLY like visiting here -- and I'll be back!!

So ...
Now let me look in my magic bag and find some more arty flowers ...

... ah.  Here's a cactus for you.

A giant crop circle in the snow?

I have a friend here in California who "paints" on the playa (wet intertidal beach sand).  You can see his work at:
