Asked a mate who works at a fish farm and he said just thoroughly clean the inside and apply leak seal with a spreader over the affected area.  Leak seal is available from aquatic centres for repairing butyl liners and cracks in rigid pool liners similar to mastic.

Aw, don't worry... rivetted roofs... and butts  are very on trend and  avant garde this season.  ;)
