Following on from a pm conversation with Melvyn last night about the ID of this snowdrop here are some photos and measurements.

height of leaf from where it emerges from the sheath - 14cm
width of leaf at it's widest point 25mm
height of spath tip - 19cm
Leaves convolute
Largest leaf inverse convolute
twin scaped
flower outers 3cm
flower inners 15mm
inner mark 7mm

I'm waiting for a photo of a normal ikariae leaf set of this plants leaf.

How does this plant compare to your G. snogerupii?

.... it used to be ikariae ssp snogerupii but it has now become a seperate species

Interesting comment Mark.

In the 'The Genus Galanthus' book Aaron Davies on page162 clearly states there is no basis for this, having examined populations in the wild and seen their variability. I wonder where it was published and what new information has become available.Perhaps we are moving towards the publication of another expensive revised edition!

Marcus Harvey in Tasmania offered it for sale a few years ago, maybe 5. As a ssp of ikariae it is permitted here but I LOST MINE under heavy, overgrown grass. I FEEL VERY BAD ABOUT IT.

I grow it here too, originally from Marcus.  It definitely does look a lot like ikariae, but I find it a bit better proportioned.  The leaves I find are a bit distinctive too.  Very floriferous, and multiplying fairly well.

I'd grow it for the name alone.

If it's a form of ikariae it shouldn't flower in November, but must do strange things in the UK? In its normal habitat it flowers in the spring.

It was for the name alone that I bought it Paul. Must see if Marcus can oblige again.
