Bellefield Plant Fair
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:01:29 PM »
Today I took a quick run up to Bellefield Plant Fair at Angela Jupes garden in Shinrone, between  Roscrea and Birr, Co Offaly, one hour and twenty minutes drive  up the motorway from here. Unfortunately the snowdrops were finished because of the mild weather  and too early for  the Daffs and Tulips. Despite a almost flowerless garden it was quite an enjoyable day out with lots of sales tables and the usual soup and cakes.
I am posting few pics which are self explanatory and some showing what was obviously a Nice display of snowdrops a few weeks ago.

It seems incredible to me here in Aberdeen that the snowdrops should be so far past  :o
A different country, right enough. A lovely looking place, though with the promise of many flowers still to come. And a good gathering of stall holders to interest the visitors - that's always good!

The garden folly, with its copper onion is rather nice.... a good place for a summer snooze.  ;)

Your new 'Kildare' is looking fresh enough, eh?

Michael, what a lovely plantfair! It must have been a pleasure to walk through the garden in the sun. The flowerbeds look promissing. It is a joy to see, every time of the year.
Your snowdrop is very nice too.

Absolutely, Michael, there's no use exciting them unnecessarily!

The BD and I were just looking at our garden yesterday and thinking there are a helluva lot of snaadreeps there.... but there's no call for hysteria  :-X

Michael looks great day out. I need some of those gloves in your picture. I bought some at the garden show they were great.

Maggi I did notice you buying an awful lot of snowdrops at the early bulb day or maybe you were just holding them for someone  ::) ;D

No snowdrops here in mine or the garden I was in today except for the few in shade
