I think I could have persuaded Bob and Margaret to attend. Is it always this weekend?

Well, Michael, at one moment today I came up against a man and I said to myself, "that fellow is the image of Michael Campbell" and now I realise that it was you. I should have opened my mouth.

By the way,
Photograph 4866 shows Mary's shoulder in the bottom left.
Photograph 4889 shows her walking with a friend on the path in the garden.

You must have done some damage to the cafe because when we got there it was very scarce pickings indeed. Actually, we settled for a cup of coffee each and headed home.

You obviously missed the talk, the very excellent and brilliant talk on snowdrops which started at noon.
Also met a gentleman who introduced himself to me as a lurker. It took me a few moments to figure out what he meant. He is a lurker here on the SRGC. So, Terry, if you are reading, it is time to join in the chat here.

Also met a very nice man from Scotland, Alex Copland, from Peebles (is that right?). He it is who supplies snowdrops to Cambo Estate for their mail order business, snowdrops in the green etc. He had with him, which he brought in to show me, a beautiful pot of G. nivalis Sandersii ex Lowick. His father it was who found the original three bulbs and from this original finding all have been propagated. He had a very attractive  poculiform snowdrop, not sure of its parentage, and a twin-flowered G. 'Magnet' which he very kindly gave me. He says it has been stable for him so I live in hope. He told me he knew our own Ian of the Christie kind very well, done business over many years. Of course, this Ian will be visiting us shortly and speaking in Cork; looking forward to that.

By the way, this Scot is obviously one of the very intelligent Scottish clans as he is moving to Ireland and hopes to be settled in here by June. Now, there's a clever man. He told me he was moving for our good weather. I hope he brings his snowdrops with him.

Met many snowdrop enthusiasts here also and had lots of good chats. It was a very enjoyable day except that I didn't meet Michael.

Mark, I'm afraid your 'Mark's Tall' had to do with photographs from my garden. Don't have them from Bob's. Have some from Margaret's, I think. Doing well here but not a big clump yet but healthy and increasing year on year.

Maggi, Photograph 4867, stall to the left of the door; lady with bright blue coat - Deborah is second to left of her, facing camers; standing when she should be sitting down with broken leg - fell in garden, three more weeks in cast.
Do you know the man from Scotland who was there?

Must update my atavar - sometime.
