Hand made Tudor bricks?! There has to be a story behind this.

So the first photo from Loughborough ....... is Martin relaxing on my bed in the back of the van. Thank god i didn't take the double!!!!

I probably stood next to a lot of people at the show. It was crowded and VERY good.
The bricks are simple really. There was a house here in Elizabethan times and the bricks were probably made locally. There are clay pits up the lane and a field called "Brick Kiln field" When that house was knocked down the bricks were reused in three 1804 (ish) houses. These in turn were demolished in the 1950's and the rubble from spread across what is now our garden. So every now and then we find whole Tudor bricks. Our daughter lives in a 13th C. house and they need thin hand made bricks to repair the fabric. We deliver the ones we find.
And so now on to Blackpool! Does that light your lights for you?

Jackie and Ellie emptied the van Angie, no gentlemen in sight; however quite a few turned up immediately they had finished and proceeded to empty the sales tables.  A very busy show with lots of happy nursery folk by the end.
Lovely morning outside here, blue sky and warm sunshine, just leaving office to start packing my mail orders.

Angie, I'd just completed a 20 minute drive and put 2 plants on the show bench so I reckon by 8 am I deserved a bit of a rest until the bacon buttie sales were open

Rob that's typical, once the job is done the offers come in  Really glad to hear that it was busy show for the nurseries. Its hard enough living in these economic times let alone try and run a business.

Martin sounds as if you had an exhausting time  hope you enjoyed your bacon buttie. Did your plants do well.

After a sixteen hour day yesterday, I've just been awoken by a phone call (thank you Mr Newton!) to find glorious sunshine and a lovely spring day. Many photos to work though (including ones of the Lanside Alpines stand, Angie), but they will have to wait a bit. Off outside for some fresh air and gardening therapy.

17c at Annes. Lunch outside. Never seen so many lady bugs. All plants bare rooted or in my carry on bag. Great idea to travel light. Plants also being mailed home. A case of Viv whats her name - spend spend spend.

In the car now heading to Harlow. Posting on the move is great.

pagea of blether and no pics yet so I thought I would get a few in. Lots of forumists about, even heard an Irish accent so might have been MS but gone from vision by the time I had finished the 'blether' in the pundit group!!!
I will attach pics in no particular order just as they come up in my picture folder, most, but not all, were red sticker jobs and I had to miss out on some because light in hall not conducive to true colours, I expect Peter to sort those out

Class 1, the big six had an entry from Paul and Gill Ranson, all Dionysia in pretty large pans and all in really good fettle which is quite an achievement this year as the Dionysia cohort in the south have had a tough time this year. I have tried to get close ups of most of their entry in this class but cannot say that the colours are always right
