Alpines feature in Estonian Magazine
« on: October 09, 2007, 05:10:29 PM »
Here are some pix of a super article , seven pages, no less, in an Estonian Gardening Magazine, featuring Shelagh and Briam Smethurst and the AGS show at Chesterfield ( Show Secretaries Ju and Mike Bramley)

The article is by Krista Kirotar, a friend of Shelagh's, who stayed with them and saw their show preparations and visited the alpine show with them. Krista took most of the photos, except the ones of the Farrer Medal, which Shelagh provided. If you can read Estonian, then if you save the photos to your computer you should be able to enlarge them enough to read the text!
To start with, here is a photo from Shelagh of Krista and Brian

Click the thumbnail pix to enlarge them of course.
There are some "weel-kent faces" in the photos, I'm sure you will spot them.
A couple in the "crowd" shots at the show are Ju and Mike's daughter and son-in-law, I think!
Not sure if these are they?

Thanks Maggi and Ian, Krista will be delighted with all the publicity.  The Director of Tallinn Botanic may even give her a rise in pay.!

Well, if her boss doesn't give her a rise... then the AGS should treat her!
