New heat records are observed above NE France, south and east germany! The absolute maximum temperature showed an unbelievable peak up to 32.9°c this afternoon over a locality of south germany, and München , with about 32.3°C broke its old april record from 1927, and, on the same occasion, also broke the absolute heat record from month may. Yes we're still in april though...
Such an insane level will fortunately not last very long, and temperatures should turn back to more normality in the next 4/5 days.

Rather cool/wet summer, reliable 4/5 months winter snow cover
Annual precip:200/250cm,3.5°C mean annual temp.

I'm pleased to see all this rain that has arrived since we were officially in drought conditions, what I don't like is the cold :(

Could you please send me some of that heat? Here we have the same cool days and cold nights (no frost however) so the plants haven't devoloped much the last month!

Something strange happens here- I got two replies for one and when I try to modify (remove) the last one I get the message it doesn't exists!

According to Maureen's diary we had 23 rain days in April-seems ages since I was able to get out in the garden for more than a couple of minutes at a time.

Was speaking to my brother today who was telling me that his wife's sister who lives near Munich has being having record temperature highs for April. It's a funny old world.

Heavy showers (much appreciated, though we are out of practice ...), max. 12ºC, min. 4ºC. Not much fun, but at least the beer is cheaper down here  ;D ;D

Had to wear a fleece and beanie on Heidi's Tuesday walk at 6.45 a.m. today. It'll be long trousers, socks and shoes next! :(
