Having been away for most of the past week I put shade paint on my greenhouse today. This normally means it'll rain solidly for the whole of the next thirty days ::)

David get out there and wash it off  ;D, I don't want anymore rain. I am enjoying this nice weather, getting lots of gardening jobs done.
David my Lewisa snowstorm that I got from you was really nice, it had three flowering stalks, thanks  :)

My greenhouse was positioned north - south (I believe this is the way for alpine houses) so I never put shading on the glass.

Is it still Spring. Typical Bank Holiday weather here today (not that Bank Holidays are any different to any other day when you're retired :P) chucking it down. Just been down to the village to get a paper (no deliveries on BH's!) and got soaked. My usual car park was out of use, being used for a Jubilee party with kiddies rides, stalls etc but not a sole there apart from some very soggy ride operators. Very sad for the organisers who must have put a lot of effort in. Still, that's the UK!

Horizontal rain here, as in Oz, when I watched Scotland beat Australia at rugby. ;D

A reasonable enough supposition, David... the Aussies might have been relying on SatNav to find their way to the stadium....

but no, I understand that the Scots triumphed in atrocious weather.... something we are well used to, but with  which the Southerners seem not to cope!!  :D ;D

Scottish defence was superb. 8) We've got tickets for ABs vs Ireland on Saturday.

After a long weekend of wall to wall sunshine we have had two dull days, so I missed today's transit of Venus. :( If you missed it that's it, as you won't see the next one either. ;)

I set my alarm clock  to wake me at  04.15 for fear of missing the spectacle ..... but the sky was uniformly clouded.... so no sight of the transit of Venus here, either.

Ian had predicted zero visibility, telling me to rouse him if there was anything to see !
I don't think he even moved a muscle when the alarm went off - how I envy him his ability to sleep. :-X

Third day of single digit highs here.
Currently 8C heading for high of 9 if we get lucky.
Have not seen the sun for 4 days.
Whinge, whine, moan.
